ANGELO W. “HAMBONE” MUCCILLI, age 95 of Canton, passed away Friday morning. Born in Canton to the late Libertore and Marie (DeRicco) Muccilli, he was preceded in death by his wife Jane, brothers Ralph, Joe, Albert, sisters Catherine Rossetti and Mary Simone, and son-in-law Ron Abrigg. He was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School. A boxer, Angelo fought as a Bantam Weight and was know around town as “Kid Angelo”. Angelo served in the Army, Company I 106th Infantry Regiment, during WW II and was awarded many commendations including the Purple Heart. He retired from the City of Canton in 1978 after 25 years of service. He is survived by his daughter Judi Abrigg, grandchildren Ronnie (Christine) Abrigg, Ashleigh Abrigg, great-grandchildren Jonathon, Andrew, Olivia, Christian, sisters Fanny Muccilli and Helen McCord both of Canton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 am at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Linda Thomas for her loving care of Angelo.
