Ann Marulli Obituary

Ann Marulli, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017. She was born on January 7, 1924 to the late Valentine and Natalia (Scarano) Marulli, who both immigrated here from Italy at the turn of the century. Ann was a graduate of Timken High School and a long-time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Ann was a strong and independent woman who cared for her parents until their passing and maintained the family home, all the while working full time as an inspector at the Timken Roller Bearing Company for over 33 years. She loved to travel with her girlfriends from the Timken Co., and visited many places such as Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, Hawaii, and the land of her heritage, Italy. She also enjoyed walking, whether it was to an appointment or to meet friends, and always declined offers of a ride from kind passerbyers. Along with her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Marulli; her brother and sister-in-law, Carmen (Nick) and Edith Marulli; her sister and brother-in-law, Dena and William Shockling; and her niece Patricia (Shockling) Brown. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Jane Marulli, and her nieces and nephews; Mary Jo (Fred) Francis, Christine (Harry) Papatheodorou, Joseph (Sara) Marulli, Brenda Marulli, John Marulli, Mary Beth (Ken) Rabatin, Thomas Shockling, Joseph (Evelyn) Shockling, and Barbara Shockling. Anne is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Aunt Annie was especially kind and caring towards all her nieces and nephews, and loved to have fun with them. We will always remember her special holiday gifts, trips to Schuman Drugs for treats, and visits to the Meyers Lake amusement park.

Family and friends will be received Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church from 9 to 10 a.m., prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. Frank Carfagna as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
