Bernard Richard Marucci, age 82 passed peacefully on January 5th. He joins his loving wife Betty who passed just a short 8 weeks prior on November 5th. Bernard attended McKinley High School. He then went on to be a successful, self-employed building contractor and architect. His passions included hunting, recreational pilot and snowmobiling with his son and grandsons. He was also a talented photographer and artist. He was a member of the Canton Ex-Newsboys, honored as a Kentucky Colonel and president of the Mason Contractors Association. He was everything to family. He had a fierce obligation to protect and support us, always there when we needed him. His tough exterior masked his incredible soft heart. Also preceded in death by parents Antonio and Angela Marucci, son-in-law Randy Schaffernocker, sister and brother-in-law Genevieve and Vince Mazzocca. Survived by son Bernard Michael ( Debbie) Marucci, daughter Dianne Schaffernocker, daughter Melissa (Emil) Stefan, grandchildren Troy ( Megan ) Schaffernocker of Columbus , Ryan Schaffernocker and fiancé Katie Dick of Williamsport Pa., Kyle Schaffernocker, Bernie ( Lindsey) Marucci , Emily Stefan all of Canton, Brandon (Jacquelyn) Marucci of Anacortes, Wa , and Zachary Stefan of Columbus, great grandchildren Tyler and Ethan Schaffernocker, Antonio and Dominic Marucci, sister Rosemary (Armando) Vito. Calling hours at Rossi Funeral Home Wednesday January 14th from 5-6:30 with memorial service at 6:30. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Luke's Foundation in Bernard's name at 220 Applegrove St. North Canton.
