Carl S. Birone

Carl S. Birone age 55 of Massillon, a loving, devoted husband and father, passed away Wednesday afternoon after an extended illness. Born in Canton to the late Salvatore and Joanne (Migloizzi) Birone, he was also preceded in death by his brother Salvatore and father-in-law Joseph Kovarik. Carl was a 1980 graduate of Perry High School. He was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Church and the McKinley Eagles Aerie #2370. Carl retired from Ohio Steel Slitters in 1999. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, taking care of his yard, softball and Nascar. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Beth A. (Kovarik) Birone, children Salvatore (Sarah) Birone of Navarre, Maria Birone of the home, brother Anthony (Lana) Birone of Louisville, sisters Marian (Jeff) Wright of Sandyville, OH, Catherine (Michael) Schultz of Canton, several nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Barbara Ann (McKee) Kovarik, brother-in-law Joseph (Missy) Russo of Jackson Twp., and sister-in-law Cindy Kovarik of Cincinnati. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 5 to 8 pm and Tuesday morning from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00 pm at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop celebrant. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the family to help defray funeral expenses.
