Dolores A. (Zilko) Athans

Dolores A. (Zilko) Athans, age 86 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening. Born in Brownsville, PA to the late John and Anna (Tarapchak) Zilko, she was preceded in death by her husband John Athans, brother and sister-in-law John and Edith Zilko and her favorite brother-in-law Peter Athans. She was a graduate of Centerville High School, member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Holy Trinity Senior Citizens and the Koraes Ladies Society. Dolores retired in 1991 after working along side of her husband at John Athans' Photography. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Allison and Randy Suarez of Cape Coral, FL, son and daughter-in-law Gus and Roseann Athans of Canton, granddaughters Nikki and Tina Athans, special Simbethera (In-law) Kalliope Kelesidis, special friends Kimmy Delerbi and her son Nicholas, and Danette Hilton. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 10 to 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with services to follow at 11:00, Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dolores' name may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Stark County Humane Society. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Louis Shaheen for his many years of care and compassion and Bonnie Gregory and the entire staff at Bethany Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
