When we’re out together dancing, cheek to cheek.”
Died peacefully in her sleep Saturday August 1 in Shepardsville, KY after attending the wedding of her granddaughter. She was born in Canton on September 2, 1927 to Thurman and Thelma Wade and because of declining health had been living in Sandusky, Ohio since 2011. She was preceded in death by, her husband of 53 years, George in 1996, also brothers James and Glenn, and sisters Verna Contes and Dolores Griffith. Frankie retired from the Ohio Dept. of Transportation where she was a relocation agent. She had also worked for the Stark County Sheriff’s department and the Ohio Dept. of Welfare. She loved cooking for her family, crossword puzzles, playing cards, game shows, Las Vegas, and old movies, especially Fred Astaire and Clark Gable. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Greg (Karen) of Orrville, Sharon (Larry) Balcarcel, of Huron, and Joseph (Debora) of Lorain. Frankie had five grandchildren, Jeff Ferrara, Monica French, Randi French Bryant, Dr. Melanie Finkenbinder, Tim Ferrara, six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She also is survived by a large and loving step-family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At her request cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors on Sunday August, 9 from 3-6pm at the Rossi Funeral Home 730 30th St NW, Canton, OH 44709. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Salvation Army or St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital.
