Lawrence (Larry) W. Tabacchi passed away peacefully September 27th, surrounded by his family. Larry served in the United States Air Force before starting his 38 year career with The Hoover Company, where he held various international positions before returning to the mid-west and settling in Canton in 1980. He retired from Hoover in 2002.
Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was an avid reader, cribbage player and crossword solver. As a multilingual traveler, he developed a fond appreciation of and connection with people from various cultures around the globe.
His greatest joy, however, was his family. Larry is survived by his mother Laura Tabacchi, his sister Loretta Johndrow, his wife of 52 years Dottie, his children Tina, Gina (Chuck Wehland), Antonio (Jill Bruzzini), and Giovanni (Christine Tabacchi), and his six grandchildren Declan, Cormac, Ava, Vivian, Lucia, and Vita.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Fred Tabacchi, mother, Thelma Fugatt, and sister Terri Tabacchi-Legg.
His larger than life personality, sense of humor and compassion matched his physical stature, patriotism and commitment to his faith.
Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at Rossi Family Funeral Home. Larry's family and friends will be celebrating his life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry's name may made to Little Flower Catholic Church or Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
