Rose Mihanovic Obituary
Rose Mary Mihanovic (DeGulis), 91, passed away on August 16, 2014 in Sunnyvale, California at the age of 91. She had moved to California from Canton, Ohio in early 2012 with her husband, Dr. Joseph Mihanovic. Rose was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and lived there until in 1958 when she married Joe and moved to Canton, where she raised her family and resided for more than 50 years. Rose was a graduate of Akron South High School and attended the University of Akron. She had been an employee of B.F. Goodrich prior to her marriage. She and Joe were long-time members of the Unique Club and Our Lady of Peach Parish (now Christ the Servant Parish). Rose was preceded in death by Joe, her husband of 56 years who passed away in June. She was also preceded in death by her parents Domenick and Mary (Cardelli) DeGulis and two infant brothers, Robert and John. Rose is survived by her son Mark and daughter-in-law Judy of Los Altos Hills, California and son David and daughter-in-law Heather of Overland Park, Kansas and by grandchildren Erin, Mitchell, Joseph, Jacob, Gillian and Mara Rose. She is also survived by her brother Albert DeGulis of Cleveland Heights, Ohio and his three children. Rose enjoyed her friends and liked to travel and meet new people. But she was happiest when spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren. A calling hour will be held at Christ the Servant Parish at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, with the Mass of Christian Burial for Rose to be held at the church at 11 am, Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano celebrant. Burial at Northlawn Cemetery will immediately follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the Servant parish or to a charity of choice.
