Susanna Saliola Obituary
Susanna M. (Rocci) Saliola, age 84 of Louisville, passed away peacefully Friday, February 3, 2017. Susanna was born in Canton on April 29, 1932 to the late Orazio and Nazarena Rocci. She was a Timken High School graduate. Susanna retired from Louisville High School cafeteria. She and her husband also had a small business. She was very active in the community as a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the Mother's Club at St. Paul, Canton, the Sons of Italy, Italian-American Festival, St. Louis Choir, Louisville Community Choir, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Saliola; brothers Carl, Emerson, Paul, Cren, Joseph, John and August Rocci; sisters Mary Tonielli, Elvira Princiotta, Pauline Papaleo and Lucille Rocci. Susanna is survived by her children John (Jennifer Tooker) Saliola of Paradise Valley, AZ, Annette (John) Rosenberg of Canton, Nancy (John) Jackson of Louisville, and Raeann (Richard) Guiley of Louisville. She is also survived by sister Concetta Bitzel; grandchildren Brandon Rosenberg, Jordan and Dalton Saliola, Jessica and Kelsey Westfall, and Grace and Ellyn Jackson; and great-grandchildren Blake Westfall and Makayla Rosenberg. Susanna loved to cook and bake. For her, it was a joy to feed anyone that walked through her door. She was quick with a smile for anyone and everyone. Her smile and laughter was contagious to all around her. She and her husband enjoyed traveling for years. Susanna embraced the last few years at St. Joseph Senior Living as she did with everything in her life, making new friends and enjoying all the activities. She especially loved her roommates, Fran and Carmel. A special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph Senior Living for the wonderful care she received and for making her happy for many years. Thank you to Woodlawn Compassionate Care for making her last day comfortable. Family and friends will be received Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Church, with Rev. Fr. Thomas Bishop officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Senior Living (2308 Reno Dr. Louisville, OH 44641).
