Josephine Codispoti
Age 86, of North Canton passed away April 30, 2017. She was a loving wife to her late husband Isidore and a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished friend. Josephine was born in Canton, Ohio to Frank and Veneranda Mongiardo on February 18, 1931. She was a Class of 1949 graduate of Timken High School. As an avid lover of flowers, she was a past president of the Avoncrest Garden Club, and helped for many years with Holly Pine Lane at the Canton Garden Center. In true partnership with her husbands calling and career, she was committed to continuing dental education. She served as past president of the Stark County Dental Women's Auxillary, and was an honorary Life Member. Always one to be involved with her passions, Josephine was a strong supporter of the Republican Party and spent much of her time volunteering at the Republican Headquarters. Her dedication was recognized by being named Stark County Republican Volunteer of the year in 2007. Josephine deeply embraced her Italian heritage. She loved her family more than anything and would willingly give of herself to anyone in need. To her, cooking was an extension of her heart and those lucky enough to taste it could feel the love baked in. She will be remembered for her extreme kindness and generosity, and as a passionate soul who truly blessed those that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Isidore Ben Codispoti: her parents, Frank and Veneranda Mongiardo; brother, David Mongiardo; brother in-law, Nick Changet Jr; in-laws, Bruno and Maria Codispoti; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Codispoti; brother/sister in-law, Vincent and Ruthella Codispoti. Many years ago, when I was a young teen, I remember the kindness and generosity of your wonderful Mother. I was only your babysitter, but I can still remember how much I loved being in your home with you children, your parents and even your cute little dogs. Your mother made me feel especially welcomed and valued. I have fond memories of her and your family. I am so very sorry for your loss.
