Walter J. Maurer age 81 North Canton, passed away early Tuesday morning. Born in Louisville to the late Mello and Alice (Haren) Maurer he was also preceded in death by his daughter Colleen Maurer, two brothers and one sister. He attended Louisville High School and was an Army veteran. Prior to retirement, Walter was a self-employed home builder. He is survived by his wife Rita (Arnold) Maurer, children Maureen (Bill) Johnson, David (Kathie) Maurer, Walter Maurer Jr, step-children Terry Brown, John Galinis, Mark (Lori) Galinis, Denise (Ed) Cassanetto, Diane (Peter) Collette, Joe Galinis, 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, the mother of Walter's children Jean (Mulcahy) Maurer, 4 sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2pm with a Memorial service to follow at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

You have my condolences. Sorry could not be their, love you all. Your all are in my prayers. Lot of memories of your dad. One was when he would grill hamburgers on the grill in the back yard. Wish I was there to give you all a hug.

Maureen, David, Boo, Rita and family, Sorry to hear about the loss of your dad/husband. I will always remember the good times I had with your family. He will be missed but not forgotten.
