Nikki L. Bober, age 73 of Uniontown, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024. She was born in Akron, Ohio on September 30, 1950 to the late George and Frances Sapharas. Nikki was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Akron, the Orthodox Christian Women, and the Philoptochos. She especially loved organizing and delivering thousands of food backpacks to students in the Akron Public Schools over the past 10 years. Her life and faith touched many people across the United States. She is now in Paradise, more wonderful than her favorite place, at the beach looking at the ocean.
Nikki is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Dr. John F. Bober; children Stephen Bober and Christina (Stephen) Pirovolos; and brother Gus.
The family expresses their deep appreciation of all the loving exceptional care provided by Dr. Linda Keith and the staff of Community Health Care, Dr. Bradley Clifford and the staff of Summa Oncology and Dr. Alexandros Nicolozakes and the staff of the Hospice of the Western Reserve - Summit County.
Family and friends will be received on Monday at the Rossi Family Funeral Home in Canton from 5 to 7 p.m., with Trisagion services at 6:30 p.m. Family and friends will also be received at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Akron on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Dean Kokanos officiating. The services will also be streamed on YouTube by going to "Annunciation Akron Ohio. Internment to be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, earmarked to “Orthodox Christian Women.”
