Louis J. Shaheen, age 88 of Westerville, OH, passed away Friday evening. Born in Canton, to the late Eassa and Jamelee Shaheen, he was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and Kent State University. Known as "Uncle Louie" to so many of his family and friends, Lou was a true lover of life, who's personality filled the room. He was a friend to all, and never knew a stranger. The love for his family extended to his numerous siblings and cousins, whom he truly cherished. Lou, a lifelong salesman, had an amazing work ethic, which started at the ripe age of 6, selling shoelaces door to door during the depression, and extended well into his 80's working as a national sales trainer for Kimball Midwest, where he loved to create inspirational videos. He was a true inspiration to all who knew and loved him, and will be deeply missed and forever loved. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George “Dempsey”, Eassa “Ace,” Charles Shaheen, and sister Mimi Cavalier. Louis was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife Karen (Shook) Shaheen, sons Timothy, Mike (Cris), Brian (Pam) Shaheen, grandson Sam Shaheen, sister Janet Shaheen, sisters-in-law Peggy Shaheen, Betty Shaheen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, with funeral services to follow at 12:30 p.m., with Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating and assisted by Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen. Interment will be in West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank
