JOHN RINALDI, age 83, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 2nd. He was joined in Heaven by his faithful companion and pet, Sam, on Monday, November 4th. John was a life resident of Canton and graduated from McKinley High School. He retired from the Timken Company in 1983 as a general foreman in the Forge Shop after 35 years of service and also Fisher Foods and Apple's Grocery. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, VFW, and was an Official Member of the St. Jude's Family Circle of Giving. He also coached Plain Local Midget Football for over 10 years, having coached numerous championship teams. John is survived by and was the proud father of Joni (George) Young, John “JR” Rinaldi and girlfriend Kim Kingsbury, step-children Laurie (Chuck) Weaver, Judy (Dan) Gibson and Rick Antonelli. He had 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. He enjoyed being the “yellow school bus driver” for his grandchildren, watching movies every Friday night and talking politics. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, sister-in-law Rose Rinaldi, best friends of 60+ years, Jack Bagley and Bob Salvino and the mother of his children, Shirley A. Rinaldi. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Rinaldi, his parents, Nick and Violet (Keller) Rinaldi, brother Dan Rinaldi, sister Irene Widder and nephew Danny Rinaldi. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. Friends may call Wednesday, November 6th from 5 to 8 pm at Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7th at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Edward Beneleit celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the J. Babe Stern Center, 2628 13th St. S.W., Canton, Ohio 44710. He will e greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. We love you Dad!
