Alex G. Shaheen

Age 60 of Canton, Ohio, loving husband, father, grandfather and son, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at his home. Alex was born on February 1, 1957 in Canton, Ohio to Shafeek and Marie Shaheen. He graduated from Lehman High School in 1975 and from The Ohio State University in 1979 with a degree in business. He married Acia Fakelis, his high school sweetheart on June 7, 1981. Kind, patient and driven, Alex will be remembered as a strategic business man, avid sports fan, selfless, and kind and loving man to all. Alex is survived by his wife Acia; children, Alysse (Phillip) Giallourakis, and Alexander; siblings Nina (Labib) El-Bardawil, Jay (Patricia), and Mona Shaheen; mother, Marie Shaheen; mother-in-law Clara Fakelis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Peter and Carolyn (Fakelis) Michalos; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Shafeek Shaheen, and father-in-law Louis Fakelis. Family and Friends will be received on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13TH, from 5-7:30 PM at Rossi Family Funeral Home with the Trisagion Service at 7:00. Funeral services will be on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 14TH at 11:00 AM at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating and assisted by Rev. Fr. Joseph DiStefano. The family will receive one hour before service. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
