Mr. James “Jim” Felix Rich, of Canton, Ohio, passed away on the 1st of June, 2018 surrounded by his family at Mercy Medical Center at the age of 97.

Jim was born on August 14th, 1920 in Canton, Ohio to Rose and James Rich. He graduated from McKinley High School in 1937. He then enlisted in the U. S. Navy during WWII, serving as a Seabee in the South Pacific. Upon returning home, he worked alongside his father to run Rich’s Tavern before marrying his best friend, Margaret Anne Rich, on May 25th, 1948. They were blessed with two sons and three daughters. Together they founded Rich Construction, and eventually developed Montabella Estates from their 80 acre farm where 125 homes were built for Canton City residents. Jim is survived by his children, Paul and Sabrina Rich, Kathy Rich and Greg Deem, Rebecca and Robert Geis, Susan and John Deem; daughter-in-law Sandy Myers; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret, his son David, and his brother Robert.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at the Rossi Family Funeral Home from 9 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12 noon at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at North Lawn Cemetery.
