Frank DiPietro, age 93 of Canton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018. He was born in Canton to the late Salvatore and Maria DiPietro on March 28, 1925. Frank was a 1943 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and later served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was very proud of his service in the Military and went ashore at Normandy Beach. He worked at the Buxbaum Company and later became the General Manager of Pizza Oven, and retired after 25 years. Frank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post 44, enjoyed golfing and mall walking and took great pleasure spending time with his grandchildren; above all else, he was a family man. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ethel; infant son Frank JR, beloved friend Evelyn Stegman, siblings Adelaine (James) DiBartolo, Flora (Henry) Weaver, Rose (Richard) Borgner, Noel (Bea) DiPietro, Joanne (Larry) Smith, Carl DiPietro, and Salvatore DiPietro. Frank is survived by his children Mike (Katherine) DiPietro of Irving, Texas, Patti (Dave) Meinert of Columbus, and Tom (Teresa) DiPietro of Medina; and two grandchildren Corrine and Samuel, sister-in-laws Elsie and Georgia DiPietro. Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 9:45 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patriot Project (525 N. Main St. N. Canton, Ohio 44720). The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Aultman Compassionate Care Center and Dr. Murli Manohar.
