I'll always remember the young Bobby I first met when he was 8 years old and your family made a trip to California. He was a kind and soulful man. I am sorry for your loss, but I know he will always be with you in your hearts.

Bob was a schoolmate, co-worker, and a true friend to me. We were kindred spirits with very similar attitudes and outlooks. I've missed Bob's good company, kindness, and sharp wit since leaving Ohio a decade ago and, selfishly, always wished I could have brought him with me.

My deepest sympathies to his family and all of our friends.

My prayers go out to Carol, Robin, Don and the rest of the family.  Bobby is my cousin and we used to spend time together as kids when we would come to visit.  After not seeing my Ohio family for a long time, I was able to reconnect with Robin and she has been a joy.  I wish I could have reconnected with Bobby.  He was there when my mother Marlene passed 10 years ago and was a pallbearer for her and that meant a lot to me.  I never thought I would be going to see him this way.  I love my Ohio family and wish for God's grace for them at this time.

Bobby and I dated in high school.  We even went to Senior Prom together.  He was always a gentleman and we kept in touch over the years even though I left Canton after high school.
My parents lived in Canton for many years after I left and so I'd return for visits.  I enjoyed seeing Bobby at the Quonset Hut or the bar where he worked.  He and I always caught up fondly.  Genuinely interested in how each other was doing.  I loved seeing that wry smile.  I will miss him and as I think back on who he was I appreciate how true he was to himself and what a lovely, smart and genuine person he was.  xo, Christine

Please accept my sympathies on the loss of your beloved Bob.  I regret never having had the pleasure of meeting him.  Seeing the photo of him made me think of my image of Hemingway and reading the lovely tribute to him confirmed that initial reaction.  In not so very many words you succeeded in painting an intimate picture of him allowing the reader to feel they now had a very real sense of Bob
-- thank you for sharing.

I worked for Bob at Quonset Hut, and haven't seen him since then. I remember him as you describe. Thank you for sharing about his life with such depth, compassion and clarity. It was a beautiful testimony and comfort, especially for those of us who haven't kept up with Bob but were saddened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences.

Deepest sympathy to all whom loved our dear Bobby.  I met Bobby when we were kids.  My Aunt was his neighbor (Charlotte Tatarides) on 16th St.  We spent a lot of time together back in the day and made alot of awesome childhood memories together.  He will always have a special place in my heart.  I am sure he is shaking a coctail in heaven with that famous smile on his face.  Rest in peace our dear friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Bobbys passing. As his Obit said, he was..INDEED one of a kind ..kinda guy. My sincerest wishes for him to now be off into his new world and space.  Thank you Bob for serving me and my family and friends! Any and EVERY time I flew in from Cali, or home from Pittsburgh, Bob ABSOLUTELY took care of us and let me BE AS calm or crazy as I wanted.
