IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agostino
Carrelli
December 8, 1930 – July 5, 2017
Agostino Carrelli, aged 86, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elena Carrelli; his two sons, Antonio and Steven; his daughters in law, Kris Carrelli and Louise LeBourgeois; his grandchildren Dario Carrelli, Jennifer Vilas and Cory Holcomb; his sister, Lucia DiFonzo; his niece Kari DiFonzo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Agostino was born in Fossalto, Italy on December 8th, 1930, to Carmine Sollazzo and Gianvincenzo Carrelli. He married Elena Ciarlariello of San Biase, Italy, in 1954, and they moved to Rome, where their first son, Antonio, was born. In 1965, they immigrated to the United States, living first in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to be near Agostino's sister Lucia and her family, then settling in Canton, Ohio, where their second son, Steven, was born. They lived in Canton for 45 years, and in 2011 they moved to Zionsville, Indiana, to be near their children and grandchildren. As a youth in Italy he apprenticed as a shoemaker, and in Canton he worked at C&J Shoe Repair until its closure in 1978. He then worked at the Hoover Company in North Canton until his retirement in 1990. Agostino worked hard and was a proud and skillful craftsman. His family and friends loved his homemade wine, and he took pride in helping both of his sons remodel their homes. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Agostino's main joy in life was his family. He enjoyed meals with his loved ones, telling stories and jokes, and he was always ready for a spirited game of cards. He is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Calling Hours will be held at Rossi Family Funeral Home on Sunday, July 9th, from 4 to 6 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, July 10th, at 10 AM at Little Flower Catholic Church. Entombment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
