January 11, 1920 – February 26, 2014
Albert Conde age 94 of Canton passed away Wednesday February 26, 2014. Born in Setien, Spain, Al immigrated to the United States as an infant with his parents Alfonso and Raimunda (Sanchez) Conde, eventually coming to Canton where he lived the rest of his life. A 1940 graduate of McKinley High School, Al enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in Germany and France during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Canton and was employed at the Gambrinus Division of the Timken Co. He retired as a mechanist-foreman from Timken with 35 years of service. He then drove school bus for Canton Local Schools MRDD for 7 years. A member of St. John's UCC in Massillon since 1942, he served on the governing body and was active in other church organizations. Al was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Wm. McKinley Lodge of Canton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death in 1991 by his wife of 49 years Mary (Perez) Conde of Massillon. A brother Pete Conde also pre-deceased him. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Schmader/Piatt) and 9 children/stepchildren and their families; Richard (Karen) Conde, Alma (Dave) Pellegrini, Robert (Karen) Conde, Albert "Chip" (Kathy) Conde , Kathy (Bob) Post, Fran Miller-Piatt, Tim (Paula) Piatt, Peggy (Jim) Savage and Chris (Don) Reede. He is also survived by a brother Tony Conde and two sisters Mary Fernandez and Ann Notturno. Al has 20 grandchildren/step grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren/step great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces and their families. Family and friends will be received Friday evening from 5 to 8pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:30am at the funeral home with Chaplain Ron Iwanusa officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Donations in Al's name may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the charity of your choice.
