IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angelo
D'Orazio
February 20, 1932 – October 5, 2018
Angelo D'Orazio passed away peacefully on October 5, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born on February 20, 1932 in Montenerodomo, Abruzzo, Italy. He was one of seven children born to Fedele and Assunta D'Orazio. Angelo married Angelina Rossi on December 31, 1954 in Italy. In March 1956 he immigrated to the United States, making Canton his home. He worked with Cal Russo Cement Contractor, Diebold Inc. and Tony Antonelli Cement Contractor until his retirement in 1994. Angelo enjoyed gardening and watching his fruit trees grow, along with his family and just being together.
Angelo is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Angelina; sisters, Aurelia Rossi and Melania D'Antonio; brother, Francesco; sister-in-law, Antonetta; and brothers-in-law, Giovanni Rossi, Pietro D'Antonio, Sergio Maricocchi, Francesco Rossi; and brother and sister-in-law Mauro and Filomena Carozza.
He is survived by his beloved children and their spouses, Antia (Luigi) Carozza and Fred (Marianne) D'Orazio. His greatest joy was his grandchildren, Kristina (Tim) Yoder, Connie (Jon) Jameson, Angela D'Orazio (Derrick Wyman) and Catherine D'Orazio (James). He treasured time spent with his great-grandchildren, Gino and Gavin Jameson, Elliott and Samuel Yoder, and Gabriel and Josephine Wyman. Angelo is also survived by his brothers and sisters, along with their spouses, Mercurio (Mary Ann), Tony (Angie) D'Orazio, Maria Maricocchi, and sister-in-law Maria Rossi of Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to send a very special thank you to The Landing of Canton Memory Care of their endless support for our Dad during his stay. A special thanks to Kim, Rosie, the Aide staff and nursing staff. We would also like to thank Compassionate Care Center, Brianna and Melissa, for their gentle care and support. You are all true angels during the hardest thing we have ever been through. Their devotion in taking care of Dad (Grandpa or GG) was a blessing.
Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (3431 Saint Michael Blvd N.W. Canton, OH 44718) at 10 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Thomas Cebula as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in Angelo's name, may be made to Alzheimer's Research www.alz.org .
