Angelo "Al" Iorfida age 86 of Canton, passed away Thursday after a brief illness. Born in San Andrea, Italy to the late Nazzareno and Victoria (Codispoti) Iorfida. He lived in Canton since 1947. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Church. Al retired from Republic Steel after 35 years as a Cost Accountant. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mary (Dominiyanni) Iorfida, daughters Victoria (Richard) Stein of North Carolina, Karen (John) VanNostran of Delaware, Marion Iorfida of Akron, Tina Cogan of Canton, four grandchildren; Katie (Mike) Pettigrew, Michele and John VanNostran, David Angelo Armbrust, great-granddaughter Adelyn Rose, sister Cathy (John) Vallosio,nephew Sean Sanford and family. Al was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was proud of his Italian heritage and celebrated and taught these traditions to his family. He was also proud and honored to be an American citizen. Per Al's request there will be no calling hours. Burial in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with full military honors will be at a later date.
