ANNE L. (BERNABEI) PANELLA, age 94 of Canton, passed away Saturday morning. Born in Canton to the late Giacomo and Catherine (Guillano) Bernabei, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Michael Panella, brothers Joseph Sr, Robert, Anthony and Vincent Bernabei, sisters Elizabeth Petrarca, Helen Confalone, and Evelyn Bernabei. Anne was a 1938 graduate of Canton McKinley High School and a 60 year member of Christ the Servant Catholic Parish (formerly Our Lady of Peace). She worked at Grover's Outlet then the Hoover Company, but for most of her life she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Anne was an avid dancer, liked to play bingo, collected dolls, loved the Cleveland Indians and Browns and was an excellent baker. She was a member of the Padunettes of St. Anthony, Canton Moose, McKinley Eagles, North Canton Elks and several card clubs. She is survived by her daughter Catherine Fitzgibbon with whom she lived, son Michael J. Panella of Canton, granddaughter Michele Fitzgibbon, sister Carmel Hudak of Canton, sister-in-law Phyllis Bernabei of Las Vegas, NV, numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 to 11 am at Christ the Servant Catholic Parish (1001 39 ^th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709) with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11, Rev. Fr. Edward Stafford celebrant. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anne's name may be made to Christ the Servant Catholic Parish, St. Anthony/All Saints Parish or Sancta Clara Monastery.
