Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Ranalli, age 92 of Canton passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022. He was born in Canton on February 16, 1930 to the late John and Elizabeth Ranalli. Tony graduated from Canton McKinley High School, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was later employed by Gibbons and Grable Contractors, retiring after 40 years.

Tony was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Parish. He loved to cook Italian food, most notably his white pasta fagioli. He enjoyed listening to music on his 8 tract tapes, golfing and reminiscing about his time in Korea. He was inducted into the McKinley Hall of Fame as well as the Stark County Amateur Fumbelball Hall of Fame. He also donated to animal shelters and had a special spot for his pets, especially his poodles. Uncle Tony will be remembered most for his cantankerous spirit and his big heart!

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; brothers and sisters-in-law Pete and Mary, Albert and Phyllis, John and Ethel, Frank and Nina, Richard and Jackie, and Bob Ranalli.

Tony is survived by his son Sam (Darlene) Torre, brother and sister-in-law Gary and Millie Ranalli; sister-in-law Sue Ranalli; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will be received Saturday morning at St. Anthony/All Saints Parish from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will begin in the church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kraszewski as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony/All Saints Parish.
