Anthony "Tony" Vitale Jr.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Age 65 passed away on May 22, 2018 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Anthony Vitale Jr. was born on January 29, 1953 in Canton, Ohio to Anthony and Jeanette Vitale. He graduated from Glenwood High School. While going through school, he worked for the family concrete company, Vitale Bros. Tony then started his journey as an entrepreneur, which he continued for the rest of his life. Some of the businesses that has he created, owned or operated include: Vitale Decorating, Village Shopper, One Stop Shop, Carnation Textiles, Trash and Treasures, Bestway Hauling which is now known as Tony's Hauling, as well as a publishing company and consulting company. Tony also managed the soccer club, Marlington United. Tony was the kind of person everyone wanted to be around. He knew exactly what to say, and how to say it. He encouraged everyone and anyone. Tony could make you belly laugh like no one could, especially his grandchildren. He was smart and able to fix or build anything but in his "own" way. He was generous, kind and always thought about the underdog. He was a dad to anyone who needed one. Tony was a man of many hobbies and talents; he was never afraid to try something new. He was a collector of many things, and an avid soccer fan. His favorite thing to watch were his children and grandchildren, as the most important thing to him was his family. Tony was preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Vitale; his brother Leo Vitale; and his nephew Steven Vitale. He is survived by his father, Anthony Vitale; his siblings Greg (Flo), Francine, Lisa (Vince), John, Noelle, and Stacy (Mike); children Tony of Alliance, Tina of Alliance, Lora (Tim) of Alliance, Michelle of Portage Lakes and Stacy (Alan) of Alliance. Also survived by grandchildren Antonio, Angelo, Anastacia, Apollo, Arabella, Giovanni, Brittani, Allison, Jordan, Jessica and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Saturday at the Rossi Family Funeral Home from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards his grandchildren's college fund - checks payable to Francine Vitale.
