Antionette "Toots" Gabriele, age 86 of Canton, passed away peacefully Thursday morning. She was born in Canton to the late Angelo and Rose Mercorelli. She was preceded in death by her husband Armand "Gabe" and sister Raphie Young. She was co-owner of Gabe's Meat and Deli, which was opened in March of 1986. Toots was known for her love of red wine, chocolate, and endless conversations. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lynette, her treasured granddaughters Madyson (Nick) Morris, Emmalee Gabriele and Audrey Gabriele whom she loved deeply. Siblings Mary Weaver, Nick Mercorelli, Josephine Schiavone, John Mercorelli and sister-in-law Rhoda Gabriele and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 am, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Private graveside services will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Toots' name may be made to a charity of your choice.
