IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara J.
(Babics) Spilios
February 19, 1947 – August 9, 2013
BARBARA J. (BABICS) SPILIOS, age 66, passed away peacefully at home, August 9, 2013. She was born on February 19, 1947, and was a life resident of Canton. Barb was a "Special Lady" who fought a courageous battle with arthritis, since she was 10 years old, along with several other declining health problems. Preceded in death by her father Nick Babics, and more recently her mother Mary (Marshal) Babics this past February, and the loss of her brother William Babics in May of 2013. Survived by her husband of 36 years, Peter Spilios of the home, a friendship with Barb that began in the 3 rd grade of elementary school. Brother and sister-in-law Joe and Derika Babics, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Sophia and Robert Vitale, Theresa Spilios, aunts and uncles. Barb was blessed with so many friends and family. She never asked for much, except for once a year to go to a beach and lay under the sun. Barb loved all of her many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and cousins. She would get all excited especially when she got the phone call to baby-sit them. Barb is loved and she is special to all of us! We are sad that she had to leave us! We all are definitely going to miss Barb! We all know that she is up above in a special place where there is no pain, no suffering and God is blessing her. Memorial Services will be Sunday, August 18, at 2:00 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. A special thank-you to Debbie Lundenberger and Paula Eberts, her two long-time friends, known as her "body guards" who came over to the home twice a week to protect and make Barb happy! They made Barb smile. The family would like to thank Mercy Home Care for their compassion and personal medical care when Barb was in need. A thank-you to Dr. Stacy Hollaway, her office staff and a thank-you to Dr. C and the staff at Mercy Wound Care. In lieu of flowers, because of Barb's love for children and dogs, donations may be made to Akron Children's Hospital or the Humane Society.
