Barbara A. (George) Esber, age 89 of Canton, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Thursday morning. Born in Canton to the late Herbert and Helen (Hall) George, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael Esber, brother and sister-in-law William and Mary George. She was a 1944 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. Barbara was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, and the Phoenician Auxiliary. She was the co-owner of Esber's Restaurant. Barb served the Canton area for 64 years before her retirement. She is survived by her children; Susie (Steve) Baranyk, Michele Esber, Nemer (Pat) Esber, Mike (Sandy) Esber, Debbie (Hilarion) Charles, Bruce Esber, eight grandchildren; Lisa (Jason) Stout, Kristin (Michael) Ecksmith, Stephanie (Dustin) Fox, Bill (Rose) Baranyk, Becky (Phil) Milburn, David (Nancy) Baranyk, Troy (Peggy) Hysong, Travis Hysong (Jimmy), Missy (Todd) Coberly, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers Dick (Sally) George and Don (Mary) George. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church (1122 Cherry Ave. NE, Canton, OH 44704) and Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am with services to follow at 11:30, Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating, assisted by Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen. Trisagion service will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 pm. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Lawrence Penvose and staff, the nurses and aides at Absolute Hospice, Altercare of Louisville and Altercare of Nobles Pond for all their loving care.
