Obituary

Barbara "Bobbi" J. (Nicola) Pete at the age of 90 years old began her life in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 16, 2025.

Bobbi was born in Canton on January 29, 1935, to the late George and Elsie Nicola. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Pete; sons Timothy and Jeffery Pete; her brother Charles; and brother and sister-in-law Norman and Judy Nicola. She is survived by her son Michael Pete and his children Michael and Alexandra Pete; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Randy Ross and their children Zachary Kager, Jessie (Kager) and Michael Tozzi, and Courtney Ross; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Diane Pete and their children Danielle and Isabella Pete. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Francis; sister-in-law Rebecca Nicola; and great grandchildren Jerusalem and Michael Tozzi IV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bobbi retired from Key Bank after twenty years of service. She was very involved in her family's early years at St. Joan of Arc Parrish. She was president of the Altar and Rosary Society and led the committee to establish the Home and School Association and Hot Lunch Program. In her later years, she was significantly involved with St. Paul Catholic Parish of North Canton. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and assisted in the funeral ministry along with many other hours of community service. Bobbi was also a member of the North Canton YMCA where she participated in many senior focused programs.

Bobbi loved to be with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren become sources of her happiness. Sunday dinners were held often and the love for cooking for her family was something she cherished. She met regularly with her classmates from Central Catholic and retirees from Harter / Key Bank. She also enjoyed meeting with her neighborhood group called the "Maplecrest Mommas".

Bobbie was blessed with many special people in her life and the family would like to mention Becky Chevraux, Jane Vignos, and Father Jay Clark. We also want to thank the wonderful team at Aultman Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Aultman Compassionate Care Center.

Bobbi will be sharing her beautiful smile with her family and friends in heaven and she will be dearly missed. She led a life of faith, love, discipline, and humor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Paul Catholic Parish on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
