Bertha "Bert" (Simionides) Sifft age 80 of Canton, passed away Monday morning, May 25, 2015. Bertha was born in Massillon, Ohio on May 28, 1934 to the late Efstatheos and Katherine (Stutz) Simionides. She was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School, and a member of the girls basketball team. As a child, she was The Repository Marbles Champion, representing Canton Public Schools in 1948. She also was in the Junior Olympics. Bertha was a former employee of the Hoover Company, Weber Dental, and U.S. Ceramics,where she was the President of the Union. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael, and two brothers John and George Simionides. She is survived by her three children Katherine Loera of Canton, Linda (Loera) Beasley of Canton, and Michele Sifft and fiancée Guy Robinson of Green; three grandchildren Chandra (Tim) Brown, Jasmine Beasley, and Rockell Lambert; and seven great-grandchildren Jared, Alec, Domenic, Micko, Terra, Alexandra, and Alecsa; many family and friends, and her favorite grand-dog, Moe. Family and friends will be received at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (4705 Fairhaven Ave. N.W. Canton, Ohio 44709) on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. "Our mother was so full of joy and life.
