BETTY J. (RINIER) GROSSE, age 84 of Canton, passed away Friday evening after an extended illness. Born in Zoar, Ohio to the late John and Concordia (Richardson) Rinier, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas J. Grosse, son Robert J. Grosse, grandson Thomas James Cowley, three brothers and four sisters. Betty retired from Timken Mercy Hospital in 1984 after 25 years of service as a nurse's aid. She was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge #233. Betty loved her family and was very devoted to all of them. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Lorraine and Wally Bell of Sun Lakes, AZ, Christine and Michael Mara of North Canton, Michele Jett of Canton, daughter-in-law Lorraine Grosse of Canton, three grandchildren; Larry Cowley, Andrew and Alyssa Russo, two great-grandchildren; Tristan Brenner and Naevia Cowley. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Stealy officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Betty's name may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
