Betty Jean (Scipione) Mitchell age 75 of Canton, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. Betty was born in New Castle, PA on December 29, 1941 to the late Harold and Nellie Scipione. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Philip, Richard and Harold "Bud" Scipione, Jr. Betty loved flower gardening, collecting statuary and trips to Ocean City, MD. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Richard J. Mitchell, sons Jeffrey Mitchell, John (Dona) Mitchell, grandchildren Mandie Mitchell, Cassandrah Godbout, Zacharyah Mitchell, great-grandson Aydyn Mitchell, sisters Jane Price, Darlene Serena, Stella (Chuck) Bennett and sister-in-law Sue Scipione. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna officiating. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Betty's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
