Betty Jane Marucci Age 86 passed peacefully, with her loving husband Bernard at her side, following complications due to a stroke. She faced what life had dealt her the last six years, with bravery and humor. Born September 26, 1928 in Canton, Ohio, she was a graduate of McKinley School where her talents as a majorette shined. She was employed by the Canton Repository before marrying her husband Bernard Marucci in 1952. She was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church in Canton where she was active in the St. Paul's Mothers Club and volunteered in the library at the school. She enjoyed reading and also taking trips with her husband and family to the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Their memorable trips to the mountains were too numerous to count. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Survived by her husband Bernard, son Bernard Michael (Debbie) Marucci, Daughter Dianne Shaffernocker, and Daughter Melissa (Emil) Stefan, grandchildren Troy (Megan) Schaffernocker of Columbus, Ohio, Ryan Schaffernocker and fiance Katie Dick of Williamsport, Pa., Kyle Shaffernocker, Bernie (Lindsay) Marucci and Emily Stefan all of Canton, Brandon (Jacqueline) Marucci of Anacortes, Wa., and Zachary Stefan of Columbus, Ohio, also great-grandchildren Tyler and Ethan Schaffernocker and Antonio and Dominic Marucci and sister Rosemary (Armando) Vito and cousin Betty Zaslona. Preceded in death by parents Louise and Herbert Catliff, and Angela and Antonio Marucci, son-in-law Randy Schaffernocker, and Genevieve and Vince Mazzocca. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Southern Hills at St Luke's Lutheran home for their loving and exceptional care Service will be held at Rossi Funeral home on Sunday November 9th at 5pm. Family will receive guests one hour prior. in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St Luke's Foundation.
