Bruce Abraham,
Jr.
March 28, 1927 – October 26, 2015
Bruce Abraham, Jr., CPA, age 88, passed away on October 26 th , after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by his parents Bruce Sr. and Nimnom (Esber), infant daughter Maria, sister Faye Shaheen. He is survived by his wife Voula "Stevie" (Foradas), sons and daughters-in-law James and Julia, Steven and Emily, grandchildren Michael, Olivia and Avery Abraham, sister and brother-in-law Muriel and Bill Gonser, nephews Vint (Maria) Gonser of MA, Dr. James Foradas of AK, Chris Foradas of NC, several great nieces and great nephews and many cousins, brother-in-law and sister-in-law George and Sophia Foradas. Bruce graduated from McKinley High School in 1945 with honors and Kent State University in 1953. He was a WW II Army veteran, 1945-1949; serving in Weisbaden, Germany with the Prestigious 7708 War Crimes Group, T/4, Chief-Investigation Section and as an observer at the Nuremberg Trials. Bruce was a partner in the firm of Swallen, Lawhun, Hubbard & Abraham, Certified Public Accountants. He was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church where he served as President and for many years as Treasurer of the Parish Council, Treasurer of NAC SOYO, Treasurer of the Archbishop Michael Educational and Charitable Fund. He worked tirelessly for his church and was a "Grill Cook" at the monthly Middle Eastern dinners where his specialty, among other tasks, was the green beans and rice. Bruce had a passion for the game of golf, cooking, and gardening. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-8 pm at St. George Antiochian Orthoodx Church (1118 Cherry Ave. NE, Canton, OH 44704) and one hour before funeral services on Friday. Trisagion Service will be Thursday at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen and Rev. Fr. Joseph Cervo officiating. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made, in Bruce's memory, to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Louis Shaheen, Aultman Woodlawn and Nobles Pond for all their support. Memory Eternal.
