CARMELA ( CODISPOTI) BETRO

Carmela, age 79, found peace in God's embrace on March 4 ^th after battling an extended illness. Born December 18, 1933 in Sant' Andrea, Italy to Nicola and Marianna (Lioi) Codispoti, Carmela came to Canton, Ohio in 1935 with her parents and sister, Teresa, to begin her new life as a proud, American citizen. A graduate of Timken Vocational High School lead her to a career with The Timken Company for 41 years beginning in the Keypunch Department then to Data Entry where she became a supervisor, retiring in 1992. Carmela was preceded in death by her parents, Nicola and Marianna, sisters Teresa, twins Susie and infant Mary, infant brother Andrew and her beloved companion Valentino Chirumbolo. Carmela is survived by her children Vince (Claudia) Betro, Cathy (Doug) Wood, Marianna (Houston) Lake, grandchildren Vince (Cass) Betro, Jeff Betro, Trevor Lake and great-grandchildren Savannah and Moe Betro and her brother Bruno (Jude) Codispoti. Carmela also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her. The family of Carmela would like to thank and acknowledge the staff of Aultman's Compassionate Care Center for their phenomenal care in seeing their Mom to a comfortable and peaceful end with dignity and also those who cared for her at The Hospitality House and made us feel like family for the short duration of Carmela's stay. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10am to 12 noon at the Rossi Funeral Home with services to follow at noon, Chaplain Terry Livengood officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
