IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carmela (Corbisella)
Lolli
March 2, 1927 – July 4, 2019
Carmela (Corbisella) Lolli, 92, began her life on March 2, 1927, in Wellsville, Oh. She was the 3rd of 7 daughters born to Benjamin and Thelma (Brienza) Corbisella and passed away on July 4, 2019, the same day as her father, 45 years later. The family moved to Alliance, where she graduated from Alliance High School and met her future husband, Robert Lolli Sr. (Bob). They married on June 12, 1948. Bob preceded her in death on September 4, 2001. Carm was an early career woman. She owned a boutique with her sister, Theresa, and then was the business partner with her husband in Lolli's Pizza Parlor. This small shop grew to Lolli's Supper Club in Alliance and later Lolli's Restaurant and D inner Theater in Canton. Carm was the silent partner, cooking and coordinating the kitchen to make sure every meal was executed to perfection. She eventually relinquished the kitchen to her son, Bobby, when the restaurant relocated in Canton. While living in Alliance, Carm was a charter member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, a member of The Alliance Women's Club and Alliance Garden Club. Carm and Bob moved to Canton in their later years. These are facts and numbers about Carm, but if you knew her you would know the things in life that really mattered. Above all, this included family and friends, flowers and gardening, cooking and eating Italian food. She had compassion for animals, even the pesky ones who invaded her garden and sometimes the inside of her home. Carm, along with her sisters, loved stylish clothes, a great haircut and, of course, a bottomless cup of strong brewed coffee with a cookie or two on the side. Carm was preceded in death by her parents and her 6 sisters, Mary Conny, Pauline Liberti, Theresa Erchick, Josie DePerro, Virginia Samuels and an infant sister, Marie Corbisella. Carm is survived by her children and their spouses, Richard (Sheila) Lolli, Robyn (Richard) Mortell and Bobby Lolli Jr. and Susan Angelo. She was a proud gramma to Alyson (Brian) Lolli Reece, Hilary (Michael) Lolli Gaffney, Timothy Lolli, Benjamin (Kelly) Lolli, Allana (Greg) Walker, Matthew (Gabrielle) Mortell and Marisa Lolli. Carm was thrilled to be a great-grandmother to Alexander, Amelia, and Audrey Reece and Millie Gaffney. She also enjoyed being an aunt to many. Carm was a woman of hospitality and generosity and, along with her family, would want to thank the people who gave her the warmest love, care and support in her last years. These include the wonderful caregivers of Albright Living and Aultman Home Hospice, and the Ministry for Senior Living of St Michael's Parish in Canton. Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 8th, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (3430 St. Michael Drive N.W. Canton, Oh.), with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. M emorial contributions may be made to Albright Living (1017 23rd St. N.W. Canton, Oh. 44709), towards the establishment of a scholarship in the culinary arts in memory of Carmela.
Carm's life was a tribute to the greatest generation and commitment to her faith, love and concern for family and friends. Our faith tells us that she is now with her family that have gone before her and enjoying a fabulous reunion, no doubt with a great cup of coffee and some homemade doughnuts. We are grateful for a life well lived.
