Catherine (Kay) A. Manno, age 88 passed away Wednesday Nov. 6 at Aultman Hospital. She was born in Canton, Ohio on Dec. 14, 1924 to the late Ilario (Larry) and Assunta (Susie) Manno. Catherine, who was also known as "Kay", graduated with the 1942 class of Timken Vocational High School. During World War II she was employed in the factory division of Berger Steel and Westinghouse. At the conclusion of the war Kay reverted to her secretarial skills and became a legal secretary to Judge Harry E. Klide and Robert E. Mylett. In 1987 she retired from the City of Canton Law Dept. as Investigator and Self Insurance Coordinator. Kay was actively involved in the Stark County Democratic Party and participated in many democratic campaigns. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Canton, a former member of the Democratic Women's Club, former member of the Sons of Italy, a precinct committee women and a former member of the Quota Club of Canton. In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by an infant sister Maria Manno, brother (her rock) Vincent (Jim) Manno, and infant granddaughter Torri St. Jean. Kay is survived by daughter Linda St. Jean and son Randy (Julie) Gonzalez. 6 grandchildren Larry (Barbra) St. Jean, Brian (Samantha Murphy) St. Jean, Kelly (John) Perry, Nicole (Brian) Brady, Kody (Jenny) Gonzalez, and Ross Bradley. 12 great grandchildren Alexus, Tori, Faith, Jordan, Bobby, Lucas, Jenna, Joey, Olivia, Logan, Destiny, and Emma. Kay leaves many loving cousins and special friends Joan Salrin & family and Dorothy Kirkland. All who have provided much support throughout the years including the staff at Altercare of Nobles Pond. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with Rev. Fr. Tom Bishop celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
