Charlene was born on February 4, 1983 in Greenwood, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Donna D. Powell and Lonnie C. Meads. She quietly departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center. Charlene accepted Christ at an early age at New Walk of Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor Saint Elvin Young. Charlene attended O'Bannon High School, but moved to Canton, Ohio in 2000, where she later graduated from McKinley Senior High School Class of 2002. To know her was to love her. She loved to gamble and play cards with her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. She never met a stranger. Charlene touched many lives, young and old. Her loving smile will forever be remembered. Charlene was preceded in death by her grandparents: Lena Mae and Eddie Powell and Sarah and LC Hutchinson; great-grandparents Katie and R. S Richardson; and aunt, Carley Powell and a cousin, Terrance Richardson. Charlene served her time on earth and awaits the glorious meeting with the Lord. Her memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of her devoted children. She is survived by her mother: Donna (Willie) Powell-Wade and her father: Lonnie Meads; three (3) sons: Caleb Fears, Sincere Woods and Legend Walton; one (1) daughter: Deranesha Curry; two (2) sisters: Janice Powell and Alexis Powell; one (1) brother: Willie Powell; one (1) uncle: Timothy Powell; two (2) aunts: Linda Powell and Jacqueline (Frank) Moore and a host of great aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 8th from 11:00 am to 12 noon at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Services to follow at noon. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
