Christina R. Pastor, age 81 of Canton, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning. She was born in Amsterdam, Ohio to the late Harvey H. and Catherine G. (McIntyre) Amos. Christina graduated from Canton South High School, and later studied English at Kent State University, working long hours on assignments while caring for her mom. She received her Bachelor's degree in December 1992 at age 59, and was honored as valedictorian. She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, as well as an avid reader and frequent visitor to the public library. She cared lovingly for her many pets and the outdoor wildlife who visited the backyard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter Cathy Pastor, and brother Robert Amos. She is survived by husband Daniel Pastor; daughter Sue Pastor, Madison, Wisconsin; son-in-law Ray Butcher, Massillon; and three grandchildren: Nola Pastor, Robin Barrett, and Hailey Butcher. Christina is also survived by numerous family and friends, including sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and members of her much-loved "Eight Ball" gang. Visitation will be at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, Monday, January 18, 2016, at 11am. A short memorial service will follow directly at noon, with Rev. James Painting officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
