Claire "Popie" (Lambrou) Kargadouris, age 73, passed away August 22, 2024. Born on February 1, 1951, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Gust and Maria (Theodorou) Lambrou, Popie graduated from Canton McKinley High School and Kent State University. In 1971, she followed her mother and moved to Greece and shortly after met her husband Bobby Kargadouris and married in 1980. Popie loved her family and animals (cats, chickens, dogs, donkeys, goats and horses). After living in Greece for 30 years, Popie returned to Canton upon her husband's death. She is preceded in death by her brother George G. Lambrou and survived by her sister-in-law Tasia (Effantis) Lambrou; nieces Maria (James) Basham and Krissa (Chris) Olson; and great niece Lennon Brooks (J.R. Armstrong) and great nephew Malcolm Olson. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Rose Lane for taking care of their "Yiayia". A private funeral service was held and donations in her memory may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
