Connie J. Speakman, age 84, of Canton, passed away Monday, February 21st. Born in Canton to the late James and Audrey (Stokey) Bumpas, she was also preceded in death by her sister Patricia Moegling. Connie was a 1955 graduate of Lehman High School. She continued her education at Ohio University, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 62 years James S. Speakman Jr., children Stephanie (Kevin) Winters, Laura Speakman, James (Maria) Speakman III, four grandchildren Zachary Winters, Tanner, Madison, and Mackenzie Speakman. Private family services were held. Entombment was in Forest Hill Cemetery mausoleum. The family would like to thank the staff of both Sanctuary Grande and Altercare Alliance for all of the love, care, and friendship they gave to Connie, as well as the help and support they provided to the family.
