My beloved Gust, age 88, died on February 9th, 2023. He was a husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, Godfather, uncle, and a friend to many. Gust was a hard worker, long days, double shifts, and a good provider for his family. As a bartender for 38 years at Topps Chalet Restaurant his call of "Next!" Could be heard regularly throughout the lounge and restaurant. He earned a place in the charter class of the National Bartender Hall of Fame and was one of 60 chosen from among 2,000 candidates throughout the country.

He was a member of St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church and received the St. Haralambos Faithful Service Award. He was a member of The Men's Club, The Silver Liners, and was on the Tarvena Committee for many years. He was also a member of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) chapter #59 and was presented Ahepan of the Year in 2015.

He was born in Greece on the island of Lefkas "Lefkada" in the village of Cavalo to the late Pantazi and Regina Kontomihi. He came to the United States in 1955 and made his home with his uncle and aunt, George and Theana Contos. He married Lula Kallison in 1966 and they were married 56 years. He had two children George Samuel and Georganne. Preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Vangeli and Apostole, his uncle and aunt, and his in-laws Sam and Georgia Kallison. Survived by his wife Lula, son George Samuel, daughter Georganne (Anthony) Benjamin, granddaughter Kate, Godchildren Steve Armatas and Phillip Armatas.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 13th, 2023 at the Rossi Family Funeral Home (730 30th St NW, Canton OH 44709) from 5 - 8 p.m.. A Trisagion prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. and AHEPA services at 7:15 p.m. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, February 14th, 2023 from 10 - 11 a.m. at St Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church. The family is inviting you to the Makaria Luncheon following the burial ceremony.
