IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia A.
Zurbrugg Heighway
April 28, 1961 – November 12, 2025
Cynthia A. Zurbrugg Heighway
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Cynthia Ann Zurbrugg who left us sooner than expected on November 12, 2025, at the age of 64. Despite her courageous, decade-long battle with cancer, Cindy lived every day with an unequaled zest for life and an unwavering determination to make the most of every day. She taught us all how to live fully, love deeply, and truly enjoy life, no matter the circumstances. Cindy carried a light that brought an energy to the lives of everyone she met. Her ability to make every day a good day was proof of her incredibly positive attitude and a deep commitment to her Christian faith.
Born April 28, 1961 in Alliance, OH, Cindy graduated from Alliance High School in 1979. She went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education from Kent State University, and her Master's degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Akron. She was co-owner of North Canton Therapy Works and a member of Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church.
Cindy was a woman who gave of herself in everything she did. Her compassion for others found its expression in her career as a dedicated and respected Licensed Clinical Therapist. Over many years, she touched countless lives, guiding her clients with empathy, wisdom, and a fierce belief in their resilience. Her professional life was a testament to her generous spirit and her desire to heal and support those in need.
Cindy is survived by her children, Michael Orsburn and Kyanne Orsburn and her beloved husband of 16 years, Jack Heighway, and his children Rae, Coree, John and Scott. She felt especially blessed by the gift of her granddaughter, Solana, who brought so much love and happiness to Cindy's final year. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Lisa (Bill) Korosy, Chris (Christina) Zurbrugg, Laura (Don) Sams, Amy (Robert) Benedetti-Dike, sister-in-law, Anita Zurbrugg, as well as many nieces and nephews, and a growing number of great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Patricia (Schneider) Zurbrugg, brother, Michael Zurbrugg, and niece, Rita Korosy.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 21st from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home, 730 30th Street NW, Canton, OH. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 22nd, 10:00am, at Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church, 833 39th St. NW in Canton, with Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert celebrant. Interment will be in Northlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Cindy's honor to RAM Ministries, an organization started by her sister. The ministry website can be found at www.ramministries.org .
