Dana L. Majetich, age 90 of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was born in Ellsworth Township, Ohio on May 3, 1934 to the late Steve and Elizabeth (Molnar) Basto. Dana graduated from Canfield High School, and after from Youngstown College in 1957. She became an Elementary School Teacher in Canfield for four years before she moved to Canton and worked for Canton City Schools.

A member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, she was also a representative for the Orthodox Laity Council, a member of the Church Choir and the Church Mother's Club, and a chairperson for the International Festival of Stark County. Dana also was a Serbian folk dance instructor for the Akron Junior Tamburitzans.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother George Basto and sister Beatrice Basto. Dana is survived by her husband of 63 years George Majetich; children Mira (Milos) Mirkovic of Hartville, and Steven (Elaine) Majetich of Poland; six grandsons; sister Dorothy (John) Gozur; and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Aleksa Pavichevich officiating. Interment to follow at North Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations, in Dana's name, may be made to St. George Love Thy Neighbor Mission.
