Daniel J. Villamagna, age 85, of North Canton, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday morning, April 6th. Born in Canton to the late Nicola and Grace (Micciche) Villamagna, he was preceded in death by brothers James and Nick Villamagna and sister Angela Gervason. Dan was a 1947 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1996 from Republic Engineered Steel after 46 years. He was a member of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Dan was an avid reader, and shared his love of books with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith (Amatangelo) Villamagna; his children, Angela Shori (Martin Hopps) of Canton, Lisa (Pete) Folzenlogen, Daniel N. (Beth) Villamagna all of Cincinnati and Julie (David) Raymond of New Jersey. Also survived by 13 grandchildren: Erica, Michael, and Phillip Shori, Olivia, Pete, Nick and Joe Folzenlogen, Daniel F., Lucia, Ava and Patrick Villamagna and Vincent and Sophia Raymond. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, April 10th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with the Very Reverend Fr. Ronald Klingler, celebrant. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
