David G. Ferguson, age 70 of Canton, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024. He was born in Canton on October 27, 1953. Dave graduated from Hoover High School, and after proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He received an Associate's Degree from the Community College of the Air Force. He was employed by Diebold for 29 years, and later became a consultant for the 330 Group.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother Vivian Ritchie; mother-in-law Norma Marzoppi; and sister-in-law Pamela Love. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Paula Ferguson; children Roni (Robert) Tarkenton and Tony (Randi) Ferguson; grandchildren Madeline and Maxwell Ferguson, and Stella Tarkenton; father-in-law Bruno Marzoppi and brother-in-law James (Pam) Marzoppi.

In life, Dave enjoyed music and playing guitar; coaching youth sports; traveling to different countries, meeting interesting people, and eating their food. Most of all, Dave enjoyed his family, and he found his greatest joy in his three grandchildren. To those cherished friends and loved ones who remain here as Dave moves on, we know that he would want us to love each other as generously as he loved us, and to remember him with joy and laughter. Had he left us with parting words, they likely would have been "so long, and thanks for all the fish."

The family would like to thank the staff and team at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital ICU, especially Nurse Taylor, for easing Dave's passing and for showing such kindness and compassion during this time of grief.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Rossi Family Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dave's name to IFCR (P.O. Box 926 Wadsworth, OH 44282) or to Good Sports (www.goodsports.org). The persons responsible for writing this obituary have been sacked.
