David M. Stevenson, age 84 of Canton, passed away Monday afternoon at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Canton to the late Russell M. And Helen L. (Peterman) Stevenson, he was preceded in death by his sisters Sondra Lee Stevenson and Marilyn Schneider. A graduate of Timken Vocational High School, David was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. David was a member of Primetime Golf and enjoyed fishing, but he loved spending time with his family most of all. He retired in 1995, having worked for over 40 years for the City of Canton. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Jayne (Piccari) Stevenson, sons David M. Stevenson Jr. and son-in-law Troy Berry, Paul and Lisa Stevenson, Mark and Lee Ann Stevenson, grandchildren Darren, Tyler and fiancee' Danniell Williams, Miranda, Jonah, Keith and Ryan Fink, great-grandson Gage Fink and "brother" Terry Boylan. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with a Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Inurnment will be in Henry Warstler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Akron Children's Hospital.
