IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra L.
(Sutton) Martin
September 21, 1960 – March 2, 2024
Debra L. Martin "Debbie," age 63, passed away on March 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Beverly and Ray Sutton, and sister Peggy Edwards. She is survived by her son Zachary Carney; BF- Freddie Collins; brother Clarence Edwards; sisters Ethel Marie Henderson, Corinna Sutton, Joeanne Moore (Michael), granddaughters Haley Jones-Carney, Carmila Jones-Carney, Mariah Daniels; their mother Naomi Jones (Johnny Daniels); ex-husband and good friend Rick Carney; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends; and her "baby" Midnight.
Her granddaughters were her pride and joy and she doted on them. In addition to her primary family, Debbie had a huge extended "family" on FB, on the site for Ex Hoover workers, of which she was one of the administrators, and at Mike's Again bar.
To know Debbie was to love Debbie. She had a big, kind, loving heart and would help anyone. She always had a smile on her face, and everyone was "hun" and "dear." She was an avid fisher, and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers - even though we would tease her and call her a traitor. Debbie had a zeal for life and new adventures. For example, she went sky diving on one of her birthdays, and once bought a motorcycle to be able to join a women's bike club.
This loss leaves a huge, painful hole in many people's hearts and lives; she was beloved by many. The family takes solace in the fact that she is no longer suffering, and in pain, and at peace finally.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 16th, from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A short memorial service will begin at 12 noon in the funeral home. There will be no graveside services at this time. We welcome you to share your stories and memories of Debbie with us.
