Denise L. (Jackson) Veno, age 69, of Canton, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at Summa Akron City Hospital.

Born April 12, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, Denise was the daughter of Charles H. and Nadine (Schneider) Jackson. A graduate of Alliance High School, she dedicated her lifelong career to caring for animals as a veterinary assistant at the North Canton Veterinary Clinic. Her compassion extended far beyond her work—she rescued and lovingly cared for countless special-needs cats and dogs, providing each one with the gentle, devoted home they deserved.

Denise was a beloved mother and a doting grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than cheering on her grandson, Jacob, at his baseball games each season. She cherished every moment spent with her family, whether gathering for holidays, going to the movies, or enjoying simple time together.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Denise rarely missed the chance to root for her favorite teams. Whether attending Browns games, watching Ohio State, or following the Cleveland Indians, she embraced the excitement and connection that sports brought into her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Philip J. Veno Jr.; and her sister, Diane Lynnea Breit.

Denise will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family: her son, Philip C. Veno; her grandson, Jacob Veno; her brother, David (Tracey) Jackson; her sister, Dr. Debbie (Dan) Thornton; and all her nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Rossi Funeral Home, 730 30th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709, on Sunday, November 23rd at 4:00 p.m. Calling hours will precede the service at the funeral home from 2:00–4:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday, November 24th at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Denise Veno Angel Fund, established at the North Canton Veterinary Clinic. Checks should be made payable to North Canton Veterinary Clinic with "Denise Veno Angel Fund" noted on the memo line and mailed to 1227 N. Main St., North Canton, OH 44720, in honor of Denise's lifelong love and advocacy for animals.
