IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane L.
Angott
August 10, 1949 – August 12, 2025
Diane Lynn (Preusser) Angott, age 76, was called home by the Lord unexpectedly but peacefully on August 12, 2025. Born in Beaumont, Texas on August 10, 1949, Diane's life was a radiant testament to joy, faith, and love. She found happiness in simply being alive and brought laughter and warmth to everyone around her through her quick wit, boundless humor, and generous heart.
Diane spent her early years in Texas and Louisiana before her family settled in Massillon, Ohio, where they founded Hercules Fence Company. The third of five children, she enjoyed an idyllic childhood filled with swimming, ice skating, fishing, church, and family road trips—memories she cherished throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Perry High School (Class of 1967), Diane entered the banking industry and quickly rose through the ranks, breaking barriers with her tenacity and grit. Her adventurous spirit led her to many destinations around the world, and eventually to the Cayman Islands on a dive trip, where she fell in love with the island's charm and beauty.
After marrying the love of her life, Sammy Angott, Jr., Diane and Sam built a life full of love, family, and entrepreneurship in Stark County before relocating with their young family to Grand Cayman. There, Diane thrived in real estate and property management, formed lifelong friendships, and gave generously of her time to St. Ignatius Catholic School and local youth sports clubs. Some of her fondest memories were of time spent in Cayman exploring remote beaches, enjoying jerk at a roadside shack, or recounting the day over a cocktail with friends.
Later in life, Diane returned to Stark County to help her aging parents and eventually became the devoted caregiver to her beloved husband during his long illness. Her unwavering faith in God guided her through life's joys and challenges, and she remained a pillar of strength, support, and compassion to all who knew her.
She was a gifted gardener, a wonderful cook, a thoughtful listener, and a loyal confidante. Her flower gardens were a reflection of her soul—vibrant, nurturing, and full of life. She relished the simple things in life and loved nothing more than a good carpool karaoke, sleepover, or afternoon pool party with her grandkids. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader and eternally optimistic for the future. While she will be missed dearly, her presence and influence will forever be felt by those who knew her well.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Angott, Jr.; her parents, Thelma (Whitehouse) and William Preusser; and her brother, John Preusser. She is survived by her daughters, Danielle (Dan) Higgins and Brooke (James) Elliott; her beloved grandchildren, Austin and Aubrey Elliott and Caroline and Greyson Higgins; her siblings, who were her lifelong best friends: Joe (Carol) Preusser, Linda Preusser, Terry (Cindy) Preusser, and sisters-in-law Pat Preusser and Rosemarie Angott; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Friday, August 22nd at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM in the church. Father Donald King will preside.
In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity or planting some flowers in Diane's honor.
